Fabio Baroli

Baroli uses the language of painting as a support to develop his poetics, which addresses the concepts of appropriation, collage, and eroticism. His most recent works discuss regionalism and childhood imagination in the interior of Minas Gerais in Brazil.

Bachelor of Visual Arts from the University of Brasilia – UnB, 2010 and Master in Visual Poetics from the University of São Paulo – USP. He has participated in several exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. His main solo shows were: “HOTSPOTS – Memory, Imagination and Resistance”, 2021 – Zipper Gallery (São Paulo/Brazil); “Selva-Mata”, 2020 – Reiners Contemporary Art (Marbella/Spain); “Goliat”, 2019 – MuseumsQuatier (Vienna/Austria); “I went to bed to rest and he moved me”, 2016 – CCBB (Brasília/Brazil); “Very Contrary”, 2014 – CCBNB (Fortaleza/Brazil); “Vendetta: la Intifada”, Funarte (Recife/Brazil, 2013). He received the Funarte Contemporary Art Award in 2012, the A. Marcantonio Vilaça Award in 2013, and was nominated for the PIPA Award in 2012. His works are part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro – MAM, Museu de Arte do Rio – MAR, National Museum of Brasilia, Contemporary Art Museum of Mato Grosso do Sul – MARCO, Romulo Maiorana Foundation, Brazil Golden Art (Brazil) and Stiftung Kleine Kunstdialog West/Ost (Dusseldorf/Germany), among others.
