One queer artist from each of the 197 countries in the world

The Queer Art Atlas

The Queer Art Atlas is a project by The Queer Museum that aims to showcase the work of contemporary queer artists from around the world, serving as a tool for the decentralisation of culture and the creation of new opportunities.

Open call

Deadline: 15 May 2025.

Help Us Find Queer Artists from Around the World

Although queer representation in the art world is growing, it still needs to be expanded, especially in the Global South. Currently, homosexuality remains illegal in 73 countries, limiting opportunities for queer artists to showcase their work and putting their safety at risk.

How to Help
If you know artists from any of these countries (list below), please send us links to their social media profiles, press coverage, or portfolio via email at [email protected] so we can get in touch with them.

It is crucial to respect the privacy of these artists and to be aware that, in some countries, revealing their sexual orientation or gender identity could put their lives in danger. For this reason, we kindly ask you not to publish any information without the artist’s permission or mention them on our social media.
The best way to contribute is by sending the information via email. We are committed to reaching out to them responsibly and will only publish their details after obtaining their consent.
