Exploring the emotional heritage of the diaspora.

“She is her mother and her grandmother all at once. She holds their hand now as she tries to make something of herself. She can feel all their memories…”

London-based artist, graduated with distinction from the University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of Arts, in 2024. The daughter of Sudanese and Portuguese immigrants, she explores identity through an ethnographic lens.

Ghandour investigates the Sudanese diaspora through the fragmented memories and disrupted connections of her migrant family. In an attempt to reconstruct the emotional map of her identity, she interweaves text, drawing and moving image into intimately layered installations. Her work incorporates household objects, family photographs, and video footage of loved ones to construct emotional narratives that attempt to fill the silences and absences in her personal and familial history.
